Christmas Break - week one

This first week Mila's been off from school, we've visited the really cool Zimmerman Children's Museum with her friend Witt, headed to place space at Kidville, enjoyed the park and today hosted a cookie decorating party. I must admit, I was worried we wouldn't find enough to do while Mila's out of school but this week has flown by. So far my favorite day was the Children's Museum. While the museum is small there are a ton of fun things to do to keep the little ones occupied.
Here Mila is trying out her new gym moves at Kidville... I think we need to get her in gymnastics and get her a bouncy ball...

A favorite Mila & Mommy moment

This video has made me laugh so hard that I've cried so hard, at least twice! Mila and I were playing in her room and I let her take my phone to take a few pictures. I didn't realize it was on video mode so every pose she wanted me to be in she captured it on video.

The Paci Fairy is Genius

We finally did it. Mila gave up her beloved paci's (thank goodness!) It was definitely not an easy task but the Paci Fairy arrived and left her a new princess doll and teddy bear. We had about a month leading up to the actual night but she was such a big girl about it and we only had two nights of her asking for it and now there is no mention. What a relief. I wish we would have taken them away a year ago but she was so attached to them that it was so hard.
Here Mila is doing a little dance after the Paci Fairy called to tell her she was arriving to pick up her paci's. Don't mind my singing... I made the song up earlier in the day and then she requested this song after her call.
And the best is I find her singing this song a lot.

My little love bug

I can't believe Mila is going to be a big sister any day! Mila's been kissing the belly a ton but I'm not sure if she really understands what's about to happen in this house. We put the crib up this past weekend and the first few nights Mila was not a happy child. I have such a bittersweet feeling these days.  I'm so excited to expand our family and give Mila a sibling but also so sad that it won't be the 3 of us any more.

Here are some things Mila's been saying these days that make my heart melt.

"Mom, you are my best friend" or "Best Friends Forever"
"Let's have a snuggle party with my stuffed animals"
"I love you very much Mommy and Daddy"

She's very into giving kisses on our checks and lips and making sure we feel her love.

When asked how she feels about the baby and what will happen when the baby arrives, she told me this morning that I will finally get to carry her. Um, I've been carrying you this whole pregnancy.

And the best, Mila thinks she's getting a puppy... it's hilarious. She has this whole story about the new dog coming.... and her new sister is going to be named Luke.  Where does she get this stuff!

Holiday Music Mila's new favorite

A few weeks ago we were out buying new holiday books and after shopping at a few small bookstores we popped into Barnes and Noble.  Right as we arrived, the Santa Monica High School choir started singing Christmas carols. Mila was so excited and mesmerized that we ended up staying a lot longer so she could enjoy the music. Since then we have been listening to Christmas music non stop and she's been singing along to Jingle Bells... it's so cute.

The Tree is Up

Mila was so excited the tree had lights and then was over joyed that she could put ornaments on it.  It was so fun to watch her excitement and joy as she decorated the tree.
Happy Holidays.

Christmas Tree Shopping

We got our tree last night after the Kidville party. Mila wasn't interested at first in looking at the trees since she was sucking on her sucker she received from the party but once she finished her sucker she was loving the trees. She really wanted a small little one but we finally convinced her that a bigger one would be better in our place.  She's been concerned that the tree doesn't have any lights or ornaments but after a long conversation we told her the tree needed to settle and we would spend the weekend decorating it. As I was putting her to bed I could tell she was thinking about the ornaments and she went into this long discussion of how we would wake up and make pink ornaments for the tree... so cute how their little minds work.
Let the holiday spirit begin...
